With the Marine Corps and the Starfleet ranks a Marine Major can give an order to a Starfleet Lieutenant as a Starfleet Commander and give an order to a Marine Major. The chart shows the rank equivalance between the two services. If they are on the same line then they are equal paygrades.

I know that the pic type is different and I have to find some green colored insignia's for the General ranks and using the different ranks was the only way to do it. Also the Stragetic Operations Officer overseas all Marine functions on board the ship.;

For the ranks 2370-Present a Marine might have different colors then green. A marine may have a uniform for command which is red if in a command billet.
